HOW TO ACCESS MORE FAVORABLE AND GRANT FUNDS FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES?



ABOUT THE PROJECT

WM Equity Partners, with the support of USAID Competitive Economy Project and other key participants organized seven one-day workshops in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Uzice, Leskovac and Zajecar, in the period from 03/15/2018 to 04/31/2018. The goal was to bring together over 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) involved in production and processing of fruits and vegetables.

In these workshops, all currently available sources of financing for SMEs in Serbia will be presented, including bank loans, leasing, financing through new equity, financing through the grants of the Republic of Serbia and the EU, with particular emphasis on the IPARD funds.

Active discussion will aim to consider all the pros and cons of individual funding sources and enable easier financing of domestic companies.
Workshops will also gather relevant speakers and panelists from domestic and international financial sector and economy.

After one-day workshops, expert team will select 30 SMEs for the participation on focused three-day trainings, which will include individual work with companies on development of concrete business and investment plans, improvement of financial and corporate governance. All these activities will be conducted in order to prepare these companies for additional funding and their further development.

The additional aim of these trainings is to prepare few selected companies from the sector of fruit and vegetables for financing via additional capital, after the establishment of a private equity fund that will support their overall development.

Parallel to the holding of Workshops How to access more favourable and grant funds for SMEs, we are collecting ideas for the name of the private equity fund.
