On July 2, in the Impact Hub premises in New York, WM Equity Partners presented to potential investors from the United States an initiative for establishing domestic private equity fund, together with several companies that exhibited their innovative products at the New York Fancy Food Show.
How to access more favorable and grant funds for small and medium enterprises?
WM Equity Partners, with the support of USAID Competitive Economy Project and other key participants organized seven one-day workshops in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Uzice, Leskovac and Zajecar, in the period from 03/15/2018 to 04/31/2018. The goal was to bring together over 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) involved in production and processing of fruits and vegetables.
Discussion on alternative sources of financing for SMEs in Serbia

In cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Organizational unit of Čačak, WM Equity Partners organized a discussion on equity based financing for SMEs in Serbia. Representatives of numerous companies from the Morava region attended this event. After interesting discussion on the event, the representatives of the Cini company from Cacak welcomed panelists where dialogue continued about equity financing of concrete project.

Global Innovation Index 2017
On December 18, 2017, with the support of ICT Hub, promotion of the Global Innovation Index 2017 was held with. A special emphasis was on Serbia with the rank 62 out of 130 countries involved in the analysis. Serbia has plenty of room for promotion, given that all other countries in the region are better ranked, with the exception of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. The significant room for improvement is in the sphere of access to finance and competitiveness of local SMEs (rank 69 and 107), the areas where WM Equity Partners will actively work in the upcoming period.
Investing in the Western Balkans’ European Future
Representatives of WM Equity Partners attended the conference “Investing in the Western Balkans European Future” that was organized by European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Movement in Serbia (EMINS), discussing key investments that will accelerate the process of EU accession of the countries of the Western Balkans.
The first assembly of the Serbian Association of Investment Professionals
On December 22, at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, the first assembly of the Serbian Association of Investment Professionals was held, thus starting the process of establishing the first CFA Society in Serbia. On November 10, 2017, in Sofia (Bulgaria) CFA Society Bulgaria is organizing an investment conference that will gather more than 250 investment professionals from all over Europe. Representatives of WM Equity Partners will participate as panelists on the panel dealing with Private Equity investments in the region.
Working breakfast on subject of alternative sources of financing
Within the campaign organized by the USAID Business Enabling Project in order to promote alternative sources of financing of small and medium enterprises in Serbia, representatives of WM Equity Partners took part in a promotion event at the Serbian Association of Managers. The main conclusion of the mentioned event is the need to work more actively with the representatives of SMEs in the forthcoming period in order to be able to adequately prepare for the involvement of equity partners (Ventura Capital and / or Private Equity funds) in their business.
